Legendary Beanworld creator Larry Marder returns for the fifth time to our SDCC Autograph Card/CBLDF Auction event, donating an original sketch to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund for their July 20 auction at San Diego Comic-Con! Marder is a longtime defender of the First Amendment rights of the comics community, and we thank him for his continued generosity!
Founded in 1986, the CBLDF is a champion of free speech and First Amendment right. The non-profit organization travels into courtrooms, classrooms, conventions and libraries all over the United States, providing legal aid, education, and advocacy to protect the rights of the readers, creators, retailers, publishers, and librarians of comics, manga, and graphic novels.
Marder’s sketch will be auctioned off at SDCC, with all proceeds benefiting the CBLDF. Plus, as in years past, TFAW will create free, limited-edition autograph cards of all of the original sketches donated by our amazing artists. Marder especially has fun with his — as you can see, it’s largely unfinished, which allows him to personalize each card for his fans! Check out Marder’s sketches from 2009-2012, below!
Going to SDCC? You can bid on the original sketch at the CBLDF Auction July 20 (stay tuned for details), and pick up your free autograph card from Marder at Small Press L-4, or at the CBLDF booth at #1920. While you’re at it, make sure to stop at the TFAW booth at #5625 to browse graphic novels and more at special low prices!
