    ECCC ’11: The Guild Panel

We were fortunate enough to get into The Guild‘s epic panel at ECCC, moderated by the Portland Mercury‘s Erik Henriksen and featuring series creator/writer (and Codex actress) Felicia Day, Tink actress Amy Okuda, and actor/writer Wil Wheaton–and at least 4,000 audience members. They talked about the past and future of the show, which superhero the ladies would like to *ahem* spend time with, and what’s happening with The Guild comics.

ECCC ’10: Wil Wheaton Awesome Hour – Star Wars Edition!

New Video Post From Emerald City ComiCon!Follow TFAW on Twitter

We’ve got two more clips of the Wil Wheaton Awesome Hour from Emerald City ComiCon 2010! Here, Wil reads “Blue Light Special” from his book The Happiest Days of our Lives. In it, nine-year-old Wil Wheaton must wrestle with one of the seminal struggles of the ’80s: should he save his $1.99, or blow it on a Star Wars figure? It’s part geek tribal myth, part Jean Shepherd, and all hilarious:

ECCC ’10: Wil Wheaton Is Definitely Not a Dick

New Video Post From Emerald City ComiCon!Follow TFAW on Twitter

You may remember Wil Wheaton from his 1987-1990 stint on Star Trek: The Next Generation, where he played Wesley Crusher, awkward teenager and frequent savior of the Enterprise, who was–let’s put it out there–widely reviled by fans. Fortunately, Wheaton remembers it too, with an incredible sense of humor, and has since become a geek icon and Twitter titan (1,642,522 followers and counting) who has written several books about his experiences, lent his voice to video games like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, and guest-starred in TV sitcom The Big Bang Theory (as “Evil Wil Wheaton”) and web series The Guild (as Fawkes, an evil guild leader who proudly wears a kilt).

In short, he wears his geek cred with pride, and he’s extremely funny. When he entered his panel on Saturday, the crowd went nuts and was happily entertained by Wheaton’s tales of obsessing over Star Wars figures as a child, and wearing oppressive spandex around scantily clad women on TNG as a teenager. Here’s a teaser from the panel, featuring an awesome wolf t-shirt:

Welcome to Emerald City ComiCon 2010

New Video Post Live From Emerald City ComiCon!Follow TFAW on Twitter

Guys, it’s been the best of times, it’s been the worst of times. Overall, we’ve had an awesome time so far at Emerald City ComiCon 2010: the people are great, the energy is fantastic, and everyone is enjoying themselves. However: I filmed the entire Leonard Nimoy panel today, only to mysteriously lose it from my camcorder.

Mr. Nimoy was incredibly gracious, funny, respectful, grateful, and just an all-around amazing time, so I’m sorry to have lost it. However, I also have video of Wil Wheaton, Stan Lee, and The Guild, as well as an interview with Jamie S. Rich and Joelle Jones, so stay tuned this week for lots of Emerald City goodness.

We’ll be covering the Con tomorrow, so remember: if you want to send us a question or a request to cover something, tweet us @TFAW using the hashtag #TFAWEC3. Excelsior!
